First Summer Adventures

Rusty Here,

It’s the middle of June and I have had many adventures.  I love summer and the warm cozy feeling of sitting out on the deck watching flowers bloom and watching birds sitting on the bird feeders eating.

The first week of summer when school got out I had a water fight with my family. We filled up dozens of water balloons and hid behind trees or up in the branches.  I even flew up onto the roof and sneak-attacked all of them. They were surprised by that one.

Copper surprised us all.  He discovered a baby raven.  The tiny bird was abandoned and hungry.  We tried to feed him a worm, but he wouldn’t eat it. He sat right on the table and watched us play cards.  Copper took the baby raven under his wing and went home with him to see if he could get it to eat.

The next day Silver saw a baby deer.  We knew it was young because it still had spots.  He sent me a picture of him holding it.  It was such an adventure-filled day with animals.

Rusty’s Summer

Rusty Here,

The sun is starting to shine more and the snow is melting. It’s getting closer to summer. Everyone is packing away hats, mittens, and big jackets, replacing them with spring jackets and sweatshirts.

Summer is my favorite season because I can fly from swimming pools to the parks. I also love to rollerblade with friends. To all of my friends with more sensitive skin, always wear sunscreen. You wouldn’t want to look like a crab.

Hope you have your camping plans ready, summer is just around the corner!

Until next time,

Rusty

Rusty’s Valentine’s day

Rusty here,

Valentine’s Day is in two days!  I love this time of the year – it’s the day to show people you love how much they mean to you.

If you’re lucky you might even receive chocolate or a big teddy bear. On Valentine‘s Day morning I will be flying around school before the kids get there to put nice notes on everyone’s lockers.

Everyone deserves kindness all year long, but especially in February = the month of love.  If you see someone is sad, say something nice to them. A compliment can make someone’s day! Even something small, like saying “you look nice today”, or “I hope you have a great day.” It’s the little things in life that make the difference.  Show a little love.

Until Next Time,

Rusty

Rusty Sledding

Rusty Here,

It’s that time of the year! Sledding is one of my favorite activities.

Put on your warm snow pants, big fuzzy coat, mittens and hat. Pick out that big sliding hill and go on an adventure. Maybe some friends would like to tag along. The more people the faster you go.

We all picked the sled we thought was the fastest and had racing competitions.  Swoosh!  Down the hill we went.  My friends and I love racing competitions.

My favorite part is the bonding time we have while having fun. I also love laughing with my friends.

Rusty ice fishing

Rusty Here,
Hope your weekend was full of fun ice fishing adventures.
I caught a lot of fish. I love exercising my patience and waiting for the fish to just grab the hook and start pulling. I wonder how the fish feels when he finds out it’s not just food, that there’s a hook hiding in it!
Ice fishing is my second favorite activity to do during the winter. I love spending time with friends and family in the ice house. We do a lot of eating snacks, drinking pop, and chatting.
I hope you enjoy the thrills of ice fishing as much as I do.

Until Next Time,
Rusty

Rusty’s favorite winter activity

Rusty here,
It’s time to put on your heavy snow gear, grab your helmet and go riding. There’s finally enough snow to have fun!
My favorite winter activity is riding snowmobile. I love to go out on the lake and just gun it. You have to watch out for those ice houses and people fishing on the ice though. They don’t like you to ride too close.
Riding in the ditch or on the trails is different. When Silver and I go riding on the trails, she always goes first to make sure the path is safe. Our helmets are nice because they have the heat vents in them to keep you nice and warm. I love being able to do fun actives all year round.
Hope to see all of you out enjoying this snow this winter as much as I am!
Until Next Time,
Rusty

Rusty’s New Year’s

Rusty Here,

Happy 2018!

It’s a new year with new goals to reach. Last year I reached my goal for being kinder to others.

On New Year’s Eve I flew around and found some treats for my church. Every New Year’s Eve my church has a lock-in from 7 P.M. to 7 A.M. It’s a fun and safe place to be that busy evening.

We start out playing games and then go to a different church to play games with the kids and dragons there.  At that church we played “Diaper Wars”.  It’s a game where you throw rolled up diapers at each other; when you get hit you’re out. It was loads of fun.  After two hours we head back to our home church.

Back home we played Nerf Gun Wars.  After midnight, we ate snacks and talked.  No one sleeps at these lock-ins; if you do fall asleep you get a rude awakening.

I had a great New Year’s and I hope you guys did too!

Until Next Time,

Rusty

Rusty’s Caroling

Rusty here,

It’s about that time.  Silver, and Copper, and I are ready for caroling. We can’t wait to fly house to house and share some Christmas spirit.

My favorite thing about caroling is seeing all the happy people when we sing to them. They get big smiles on their faces and sometimes even sing along. Silver loves to go because she loves to sing! Copper likes to go so he can throw snowballs at us while we are on our way to the next house.

After we are done caroling we love to fly around and look at all the lights and decorations. You would be surprised how many people decorate for Christmas.

Hope you all are getting in the Christmas spirit.

Until Next Time,
Rusty

Rusty’s December

Rusty Here,

Tis the season for fires in the fireplace watching Christmas movies, drinking hot cocoa while wrapped up in a warm fuzzy blanket.   Your stockings are hung, the tree is up, and your house is decorated.

Look outside and see the snowflakes dancing around. It’s time to put your winter gear on and go sledding. Copper, Silver, and I are going to have a contest to see who can slide down the hill the fastest. We are even going to have a snowman building contest!

Copper and Silver are coming over in a couple of days to make cookies. We are going to make them from scratch and then we are going to frost them.

We love to watch a movie called, Santa Paws, every year it’s a tradition. If you haven’t seen it, please do.  This movie is a must see!

Make sure to take time with those you love during this special season and have some holiday cheer.

Until Next Time,

Rusty

Rusty’s Thanksgiving

Rusty Here,

Thanksgiving was a blast! I was so blessed to be able to share this special holiday with my friends Copper and Silver.

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because I get to be with my friends and family. Each year Copper, Silver and I try to have at least one Thanksgiving dinner together. This year they both came to my house.

Copper and Silver have been sent me lots of delicious recipes to try. They were so good.

We had both ham and turkey for Thanksgiving dinner.  We dragons are big eaters!  I love to fly through the house smelling the mashed potatoes and gravy. Sweet potatoes are my favorite! The marshmallows just melt in your mouth. Copper’s favorite is green bean casserole. He loves green beans. Silver has a sweet tooth.  Her favorite is the pie. She likes to eat just a little food, so she can fill up on the pie.

I hope your Thanksgiving was full of good smells and people you love.

Until Next Time,

Rusty
